SUMMARY:Is the Grass Really Greener (Elsewhere)? Global Mobility & Investment - Key Considerations for Companies and their Leadership
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]\nREGISTRATIONS CLOSE MARCH 16 COB \nShifting geopolitical dynamics\, evolving regulatory frameworks\, and increased scrutiny of cross-border capital flows are reshaping how companies and their leadership approach global mobility\, investment\, and long-term planning. SUMMARY:EACC Florida Task Force Transportation\, Logistics & Customs Meeting I Adapting to the eCommerce Power Shift: Best Practices in Warehousing\, Compliance & Digital Logistics
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]\nMEMBERS & INVITATION ONLY \nJoin us for the next Meeting of EACC Florida’s Task Force Transportation\, Logistics & Customs \nWith eCommerce giants like Amazon moving aggressively to control the entire logistics chain — from first mile to final delivery — the competitive landscape is shifting rapidly. This growing push for end-to-end supply chain ownership is prompting other online giants to follow suit\, creating unprecedented disruption in warehousing\, customs\, and fulfillment models.\n\nJoin us for a discussion exploring how European and transatlantic businesses can adapt. We’ll examine the operational\, technological\, and compliance challenges of supporting high-velocity eCommerce\, and how companies can leverage warehouse automation\, integrated data solutions\, and strategic partnerships to stay ahead.\n\nFor this interactive discussion\, we will be joined by Vera NIEUWLAND\, a digital commerce strategist currently leading the service line for Digital Transformation at Kaufman Rossin in conversation with Oleksii YAREMENKO\, Director of Global Services\, North America at LeverX.\n\nEXPERT SPEAKERS\n\n Vera NIEUWLAND\, Director\, Business Consulting Services – Kaufman Rossin\n Oleksii YAREMENKO\, Director of Global Services\, North America – LeverX \n\nEVENT SCHEDULE\n\n11.30 AM – 11.45 AM:   Arrivals & Registration\n11.45 AM – 1.30 PM:     Program\n1.30 PM – 2.00 PM:      Lunch & Networking\n\nLocation to be communicated to registered attendees only.\n\nWHO SHOULD ATTEND:  executives and senior professionals from European companies\, European executives\, or executives from Florida-based companies with transatlantic business interests in transportation\, logistics\, customs\, warehousing\, and eCommerce. This session is designed for decision-makers who want to exchange insights\, share best practices\, and explore innovative strategies for high-velocity eCommerce fulfillment.\n\n EACC Florida Members: Register HERE\n EACC Florida Non Members: if wish to receive an invitation\, please contact csleszynska@eaccfl.com indicating “Task Force Meeting Invitation Request” in the subject line.\n\nSPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES\n\nVera Nieuwland is a Director in Kaufman Rossin’s business consulting services practice\, leading the service line for Digital Transformation. As a digital commerce strategist with deep expertise in helping consumer brands and B2B companies grow and modernize their business through technology and applied AI\, she brings a unique dual perspective\, having led digital transformation initiatives both as a consultant and as an in-house operator at a high-growth e-commerce portfolio company. At Kaufman Rossin\, Vera advises mid-market clients on how to harness digital tools and artificial intelligence to optimize operations\, elevate customer experiences\, and unlock new revenue streams. Her work centers on practical AI applications that drive measurable business impact\, from automating decision processes to enhancing demand planning and logistics.\n\nVera’s approach blends strategy\, process and product thinking\, and a deep understanding of how to make emerging technologies work in the real world. She is passionate about helping organizations navigate the fast-changing digital landscape to build agile\, tech-enabled business models that are people centric.\n\n \n\nAs Director of Global Services at LeverX\, Oleksii Yeremenko is responsible for service offerings and ensuring the smooth delivery of digital transformation journeys for customers worldwide. For over a decade\, Oleksii has participated in numerous SAP implementations and technology programs\, guiding companies to elevate their businesses with cutting-edge solutions and technologies.\n\nIn 2023\, he played an active role in relocating LeverX Headquarters to Miami\, Florida\, and moved there in August 2023 to oversee the HQ operations. Born in Ukraine\, Oleksii moved with his family to Minsk\, Belarus\, in 1994\, where he completed school and earned a degree in Telecommunications Engineering. In 2019\, he returned to Ukraine to establish LeverX’s operations\, growing it from the ground up into a fully functional delivery location. Oleksii is a proud husband and father to a little princess.\n\nThis program is kindly hosted by \n\n \n\n\n\nWhy a dedicated Task Force?\n\nWith the second-largest foreign trade zone network in the U.S.\, Florida is home to 11\,500+ logistics and distribution establishments. The broader wholesale trade\, transportation\, and logistics industry accounts for over 67\,000+ establishments and employs more than half a million individuals across the state. Evolving geopolitics\, recurring supply chain disruptions\, the “greening” of the industry and increasing regulatory requirements are impacting global trade and it is expected that trade will become less global and more regionalized with a renewed focus on the Transatlantic Corridor – North America\, Latin America and Europe.\n\nWhile there are a number of entities and professional groups – federal\, State and local – that serve these industries and their professionals to advance their interests\, few if any have a transatlantic focus or specifically serve European companies and professionals from these industries present in Florida. And whereas specific know-how and expertise represent a competitive advantage for any company\, the issues confronted by the sector are the same for all.\n\nEACC Florida’s Task Force is loosely inspired from a similar TF run by EACC Auvergne-Rhone-Alps: https://eacc-ra.com/task-forces/.\n\nMission: to bring together active professionals who understand the benefits of sharing best practices across industries\, ensuring that there is no silo thinking.\n\nRole: to organize meetings on a regular basis to address strategic issues\, share findings and best practices and make mutual recommendations for improvement in a given sector of activity. Chatham House rules or any other confidentiality rule might be used to allow for open exchange during the meetings.\n\nTask Force Members: representatives of EACC Florida Member companies with interests in the transportation/logistics industry invited to serve on the Task Force.\n\nIf you wish to receive further details about the Task Force\, please contact Christina Sleszynska at csleszynska@eaccfl.com\n\nMany thanks to our Task Force Members![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_images_carousel images=”35959\,36190\,35975\,35968″ onclick=”link_no” mode=”vertical” slides_per_view=”4″ css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Members & Invitation Only I EACC Florida Transportation\, Logistics & Customs Meeting
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The global supply chain is susceptible to various threats\, including terrorism\, and cyber-attacks\, so many countries worldwide have created voluntary supply chain security programs. Participating in these programs demonstrates a commitment to improving cargo security practices and ensuring shipments’ integrity. To that effect\, the US created the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT). In exchange for demonstrating a secure supply chain\, participants enjoy many benefits\, including a reduction in customs exams.\n\nJoin us at the beautiful Blue Lagoon offices of Pernod Ricard on February 26 for an update on key features of CTPAT including benefits for participants and a discussion about best practices.\n\nIf you are an importer\, exporter\, customs broker\, carrier\, consolidator\, or otherwise involved in international trade\, this meeting is for you!\n\nTOPICS FOR DISCUSSION\n\n The evolution of CTPAT’s human rights due diligence requirements\n Supply chain mapping – the value add for CTPAT compliance and beyond (think UFLPA\, disruption resilience\, etc)\n CTPAT as a vehicle to prompt positive bias from government regulators\n\nEXPERT SPEAKER\n\n Shawn Harwood\, Trade Investigations Specialist – Squire Patton Boggs\n\nEVENT SCHEDULE\n\n11.30 am – 12.00 pm: Arrivals/registration\n12.00 pm – 1.30 pm: Presentation & discussion\n1.30 pm – 2.00pm: Lunch & networking\n\nLOCATION\n\nExact location to be communicated to confirmed guests only.\n\nFor details on how to receive an invitation\, please contact Christina Sleszynska at csleszynska@eaccfl.com\n\nSPEAKER BIO\n\nShawn Harwood is a nationally recognized trade investigations specialist in Squire Patton Bogg’s International Trade & Foreign Investment Practice\, based in Washington DC. His broad expertise supports the practice’s work in regulatory investigations\, including customs compliance and sanctions\, trade and government contract disputes\, and international partnerships.\n\nShawn’s unique background offers clients critical support in addressing issues related to export control policies and regulations\, antidumping/countervailing duties\, and enhancing white collar and trade investigations. He also works with clients to develop supply chain risk mitigation strategies and implement compliance and due diligence programs.\n\nShawn served as a career special agent and international attaché with US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). After retiring from government service in 2023\, he founded a consultancy specializing in supply chain risk management\, human rights due diligence and customs regulatory compliance.\n\n——————————————\n\nWhy a dedicated Task Force?\n\nWith the second-largest foreign trade zone network in the U.S.\, Florida is home to 11\,500+ logistics and distribution establishments. Chatham House rules or any other confidentiality rule might be used to allow for open exchange during the meetings.\n\nTask Force Members: representatives of EACC Florida Member companies with interests in the transportation/logistics industry invited to serve on the Task Force.\n\nIf you wish to receive further details about the Task Force\, please contact Christina Sleszynska at csleszynska@eaccfl.com\n\nMany thanks to our Task Force Members![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”35959\,36190\,35975\,35968″ css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Fireside Chat I Tech Policy in the EU and US under Trump 2.0 - Regulatory Challenges & Business Opportunities for the Industry
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]REGISTRATIONS ARE CLOSED\n\nOn January 20\, 2025\, President Donald Trump issued the “America First Trade Policy” memorandum\, outlining a comprehensive strategy to prioritize American economic and national security interests – including in the tech industry -and representing a radical shift from policies under the Biden Administration.\n\nYet\, continued collaboration between the E.U. and the U.S. is more important than ever due to a combination of competition from non-market economies and a lack of capacity in three key geo-strategic areas: telecommunications\, semiconductor manufacturing\, and critical minerals and raw materials. These areas are the basic building blocks of many of the products and services the United States and EU nations use across a variety of sectors\, including for the operation of critical infrastructure\, the manufacturing of medical devices\, and numerous military applications.\nUS Big Tech is ready for Trump 2.0. But what about the E.U.? And what about US Medium-Sized Tech? \nJoin us on February 13 with guest-speaker Johannes Bahrke\, Digital Counselor at the EU Delegation to the United States\, in conversation with tech C-Suite Executives for an open discussion about challenges and opportunities for the tech industry in Florida and on both sides of the Atlantic under the new Trump Administration.\n\nAnd after the program\, join us for a Networking Reception to celebrate EACC Florida’s 5th Anniversary.\n\nTOPICS FOR DISCUSSION\n\n EU-U.S. relations\, China and “Tech Sovereignty” – what is the current landscape\, how is it being perceived and what does it really mean in an inter-connected world?\n Why are supply chain resilience\, standard-setting in new technologies\, and ethical considerations in tech deployment so crucial?\n How could the imposition of tariffs disrupt supply chains\, increase costs for tech companies\, and influence the availability and pricing of technology products in both the EU and the US?\n What is the status of the EU AI Act\, the Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act and how will they play out in this new transatlantic environment?\n What was the role for the EU-US Technology & Trade Council established under the Biden Presidency. How was the tech industry involved and will it be replaced? To do what?\n How can the E.U. bridge differing transatlantic views to ensure collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence\, 5G\, and cybersecurity?\n What are the challenges and opportunities in handling transatlantic data flows and privacy concerns in the Trump 2.0 world?\n\nSPEAKERS\n\n Johannes BAHRKE\, Digital Counselor – EU Delegation to the United States\n Dr. Victor LOZINSKI\, Co-founder and Chairman of the Board – LeverX\n Alan SUTIN\, Senior Chair\, Global Intellectual Property & Technology Group – Greenberg Traurig\, and President – EACC Florida [Moderator]\n\nEVENT SCHEDULE\n\n3.00 PM – 3.30 PM:     Arrivals & Registration\n3.30 PM – 4.45 PM:     Program\n5.00 PM – 7.00P PM:  EACC Florida Anniversary Reception\n\nLOCATION\n\nGreenberg Traurig\n333 SE 2nd Avenue – Suite 4400\nMiami\, FL 33131\n\nREGISTRATION FEE\n\nEACC Member:                 Free\nGuest with Promo Code: Free\nEACC Non-Member:       $30\n\n \n\nSPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES\n\nJohanes BAHRKE is Counsellor for Digital Policy at the EU Delegation to the United States in Washington DC since August 2024. Whereas the snap parliamentary elections in France resulted in further far-right advances\, both the Left and President’s Macron’s centrist coalition made a surprise come-back. This further complicates the French President’s capacity to govern with wide implications for European Union policies. In London\, the general election on July 4 produced a substantial majority for the Labour Party after 14 years of conservative rule. And in the United States\, trade policy will be among the biggest issues to watch depending on which candidate wins the presidential election.\n\nThis program will consider the possible impact of these elections on transatlantic trade with a special focus on France\, the UK\, the EU and the US.\n\nTOPICS FOR DISCUSSION\n\n Economic outlook in Europe and the US\n How will the new political majorities in place in the EU\, France and the UK impact transatlantic trade policy?\n What would their impact be on the commercial regulatory environment\, including on US businesses already operating in Europe or considering investing there?\n What changes can we expect in the UK’s trade policy with the US in general and US States in particular?\n What is the UK-Florida Memorandum of Understanding and how is it being implemented?\n What could be the implications of a Trump or Harris Presidency on transatlantic trade and business?\n\nSPEAKERS\n\n Rufus Drabble\, British Consul General in Miami\n Everett Eissenstat\, Partner – Squire Patton Boggs\n Michaelangelo Margherita\, Head of Trade\, Agriculture and Digital Economy – Delegation of the EU to the U.S\n Sylvain Perret\, Founder – Objectif USA\n Peter Stratos\, Principal – Kaufman Rossin [Moderator]\n\nEVENT SCHEDULE\n\n9.00 AM – 9.30 AM:      Arrivals & Registration\n9.30 AM – 10.30 AM:    Program\n10.30 AM – 11.00 AM:   Networking\n\nREGISTRATION\n\nEACC Member: Free\nGuest with Promo Code: Free\nEACC Non-Member: $30\n\nREGISTER HERE\nTHIS PROGRAM WILL BE HELD UNDER THE CHATHAM HOUSE RULE. \n \n\nSPEAKER BIOS\n\nRufus DRABBLE\n\nRufus Drabble started his role as Her Majesty’s Consul General in Miami in August 2022.
