DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”IN PERSON REGISTRATION” color=”blue” align=”center” css=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eventbrite.com%2Fe%2Fupdate-on-the-eb-5-investor-green-card-program-under-trump-20-registration-1297474955519%3Faff%3Doddtdtcreator”][vc_column_text css=””]\nREGISTRATIONS CLOSE ON 05/07/2025 AT 12.00PM \nOn February 25\, President Trump announced his intent to replace the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program with a new “Gold Card” visa program\, requiring a $5 million investment for a path to US citizenship. The declared goals are to simplify the process; generate additional revenue to further the President’s agenda of reducing the overall U.S. deficit; address fraud. No further details were provided. For now\, the EB-5 program remains untouched but the announcement has raised questions about its impact on the EB-5 program and on foreign investors from Europe and beyond looking to establish businesses in the U.S.\n\nJoin us for an update on the “Gold Card” proposal and a discussion on how to navigate any uncertainties raised by this announcement.\n\nThe program will also discuss what the EB-5 industry can expect from a second Trump Presidency. Will the President’s general vision for a merit-based immigration system result in a more streamlined pathway to residency? Will his emphasis on deregulation streamline processes for foreign investors looking to establish businesses in the U.S with tax cuts and less red tape?\n\nTOPICS FOR DISCUSSION\n\n What is the EB-5 Program?\n What is the proposed “Gold Card” program and what could its impact be?\n Who typically invests in the EB-5 Program?\n What are the prospects for EB-5 growth and continuity under the new Administration?\n What EB-5 challenges may lie ahead: processing delays and stricter scrutiny\n What are the tax considerations and filings requirements once EB5 visa is obtained?\n Is there a ripple effect between the EB5- program and H-1B\, opportunities and challenges?\n What does the promise of smart\, merit-based immigration mean?\n Deregulation\, tax cuts and DOGE: are these advantages for those considering EB5?\n What are the tax incentives under the new administration related to real estate?\n\n\n \n\nSPEAKERS\n\n Leandro Barbuscio\, International Tax Principal – Kaufman Rossin [Moderator]\n Scott Bettridge\, Chair Immigration Practice – Cozen O’Connor\n Andrea Devis-Focke\, Director\, Investor Relations – EB5 Capital\n Makiel Morciego\, Director Federal International Tax – Kaufman Rossin\n\nEVENT SCHEDULE\n\n 9.00 AM – 9.30 AM:       Arrivals & Registration\n 9.30 AM – 10.30 AM:     Program\n 10.30 AM – 11.00 AM:   Networking\n\nLOCATION\n\nKaufman Rossin\n3310 Mary Street\nMiami\, FL 33133\n\nREGISTRATION FEE\n\n EACC Member: Free\n Guest with Promo Code: Free\n EACC Non-Member: $30\n Remote Participation: Free\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\nREMOTE REGISTRATION\n\nSPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES\n\nLeandro BARBUSCIO\n\nLeandro Barbuscio leads Kaufman Rossin’s international business services practice. SUMMARY:Business in Flux - Perspectives from a Transatlantic Panel of C-Suite Women
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]At the end of 2022\, the IMF’s annual economic outlook for 2023 projected weak growth across the world in the face of elevated inflation\, higher interest rates\, reduced investment\, disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the lingering impact of COVID especially in China. The sharp downturn in growth was expected to be widespread\, with World Bank forecasts in 2023 revised down for 95% of advanced economies and nearly 70% of emerging market and developing economies. Although the economic indicators at the start of 2023 seem to be more favorable than expected\, any new adverse development—such as higher-than-expected inflation\, abrupt rises in interest rates to contain it\, a resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic\, or escalating geopolitical tensions—could push the global economy into recession.\n\nIn this program\, a transatlantic panel of C-Suite women joined by Arancha González Laya\, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain and Dean of the School of International Affairs at Sciences Po in Paris\, will explore these and other challenges faced by global companies in this uncertain global geopolitical and economic environment.\n\nSPEAKERS\n\n Carol Cabezas\, President – Azamara Cruise Lines\n Arancha Gonzalez-Laya\, Dean of the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po (Paris)\n Nadine Heubel\, former CEO Heinemann Americas; Senior Managing Director – Travel Retail North America & Global Wholesale – Newmark\n Daniella Silberstein\, Shareholder – Greenberg Traurig and Co-chair of GT’s Miami Women’s Initiative [Moderator]\n Monica Vazquez\, Executive Vice President & General Manager – Abanca USA\n\nTOPICS FOR DISCUSSION\n\n What are the economic perspectives for 2023 and is recession still a risk?\n How will business investment respond to recent changes in asset prices and the commitment of monetary policymakers around the world to slower growth?\n What are the perspectives for the transatlantic relationship in relation to business and trade ?\n What will the return of industrial policy in the U.S. (with the Inflation Reduction Act) mean for transatlantic investment and trade?\n What will be the longer-term ramifications for global fragmentation of the sanctions imposed on Russia and on Chinese semiconductors?\n Are there new roles for China\, India and in particular Latin America in this new economic environment?\n How are these trends playing out in places like Florida and Miami in their efforts to establish themselves as global business hubs?\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Event schedule\n\n 8.30 am – 8.45 am:   Registration & Coffee\n 8.45 am – 9:45 am:   Program\n 9:45 am – 10.30 am: Networking\n\nRegistration Fee\n\n EACC Member: Free\n Guest with Promo Code: Free\n EACC Non-Member: $30\n Online attendance: Free\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”IN PERSON ATTENDANCE” color=”blue” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eventbrite.com%2Fe%2Fbusiness-in-flux-perspectives-from-a-transatlantic-panel-of-c-suite-women-registration-525121952897″][vc_btn title=”ONLINE ATTENDANCE” color=”blue” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fgtlaw.zoom.us%2Fmeeting%2Fregister%2FtJ0ldOysrz8jHtehbaaOw2u70Mw8bt2mjc3G”][/vc_column][vc_column][vc_column_text]Speaker Bios\n\nCarol Cabezas\n\nCarol Cabezas is the President of Azamara.\n\nShe is responsible for the full range of operations of the cruise line including Sales\, Marketing\, Revenue\, Finance\, Deployment and Shipboard Operations.  Carol’s dedication to the cruise industry with a career spanning over two decades stems from her passion for travel\, and cruise in particular.\n\nPrior to that\, Carol was Vice President of Investor Relations for Royal Caribbean Group\, managing relationships with the global investor and analyst community.
