DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n\n\nMercedes Garcia Perez \n\nGzim Ocakoglu \n\n\nOn March 2 and 3\, EACC Florida is hosting a delegation of EU officials in Miami for a series of specialized meetings on resilience\, transportation and climate-related issues.\n\n \n\nThis is the first visit to Miami in this capacity of Mercedes Garcia Perez\, Head of Global Issues and Innovation at the Delegation of the European Union in Washington DC\, and of Gzim Ocakoglu\, First Counselor on Mobility and Transport also at the Delegation of the EU.\n\n \n\n \n\nThe visit will include peer exchanges between the EU officials and representatives from Miami-Dade County’s Port Authorities\, Office of Resilience\, the City of Miami Beach\, MDC’s International Trade Committee\, and entities part of MDC’s Transportation System including the TPO\, DTPW\, FDOT and CITT. The two EU Representatives will also be meeting with Miami International Airport Authorities and airline representatives.\n\n \n\nAs part of their schedule\, they will have an exchange of views with the European Consul Generals present in Miami on “Maritime Transport Decarbonization – Initiatives and Best Practices” at a meeting hosted by the Consul General of France in the framework of France’s Presidency of the European Union. Based in Miami\, Mr. Cerdá oversees 35 countries with 48 member airlines across North and South America\, and the Caribbean\, driving IATA’s global standards and international perspective to deliver maximum value to the safe\, sustainable and profitable development of aviation across the region. He advocates with Government authorities\, safety regulators\, airports\, and industry stakeholders to create a common approach to utilize aviation as an engine of economic growth and social development\, which drives nearly USD$1\,011 billion in GDP and generates 14.5 million jobs in the Americas Region. Mr. Cerdá is also IATA’s major shareholder for Cargo Network Services (CNS) in the United States\, and a member of the Executive Boards of Colombia’s Air Transport Association (ATAC) and Mexico’s National Chamber of Air Transport (CANAERO). Mr. Cerdá possesses a wealth of industry experience acquired over 30 years in aviation.
