EACC Florida at eMerge 2022
|
|
 |
In April, Alan Sutin, EACC Florida President and Executive Director Christina Sleszynska, attended the eMerge Conference at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
After a 2-year hiatus, South Florida's premier tech event made its grand comeback for 2 days of presentations by founders and CEOs, start-up pitches, demos and of course lots and lots of networking.
We were delighted to see that several Members took advantage of the special rate afforded to EACC Florida by eMerge and were pleased to meet many old and new friends. The energy was terrific !
While the "tech" numbers for Miami and South Florida are making headlines every day, there is a more fundamental aspect to Miami's transformation into a Global Tech Hub: women.
The cover page of the premiere issue of the eMerge Magazine says it all !

Florian Marmousez – His Head in the Clouds, his Feet on Solid Ground
“You have to follow your dreams and follow your heart – Always.”
|
Florian turns 20 in July this year. He is French. was born and raised in Lille, a city in Northern France close to Belgium. His parents are from the same region. He has two younger twin brothers. Every year, the family would spend the summer in Florida at their vacation home in Hillsboro Beach. Florian and his brothers would go to summer camp, engage in water sports and enjoy the beach and tropical lifestyle. They loved Florida so much that in 2016, the family decided to move to Miami where they have lived ever since.
Florian took a plane for the first time when he was four and decided that he wanted to become a pilot.
He and his brothers went to the International Studies Charter School (ISCHS) in Little Havana, studying toward a dual US high-school diploma and French Baccalaureate. Florian started taking piloting lessons at the Miami Flight Academy and transferred to the Academic Solutions Academy for his Senior year. He graduated in 2020 a Valedictorian. Throughout the Pandemic, Florian continued studying toward a Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating Airplane and Commercial Pilot License. He now has almost 300 flight hours under his belt and needs 200 more to fly cargo planes.
Florian’s academic plans are still a little unclear. He is considering going to college to get a degree in something related to aviation but has yet to start applying. He is passionate about all things mechanical like car engines and turbines and robotics. He also loves the outdoors and camping in the Everglades and looks forward to spending a few weeks in France with his family over the summer. But for now, his key focus is to continue flying as much as possible. From Miami to Key West or toward Northern Florida, over the mesmerizing Everglades or shimmering blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean.
