Carol Cabezas, President of Azamara, Member of the EACC Florida, Attends a High-Level Dialogue with Dr. Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank (EIB)
This Invitation Only event was a closed-door high-level dialogue with Dr. Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank, Jean-Christophe Laloux, Director General Operations and a large team of EIB officials. It was held in Washington DC on Friday April 14 in the margins of the IMF meetings.
Representatives from EACC Member companies from a variety of industries discussed opportunities for transatlantic cooperation in climate and energy transition.

The event was organized by EACCNY and attended by high-level executives from across the EACC Network.

We were thrilled that Carol Cabezas, President of Azamara Cruises, an EACC Florida Member, was invited to join this unique opportunity offered by EACC Florida and meet with EIB officials.

After returning to Miami, Carol Cabezas said:

“Big thanks to the EACC for hosting this wonderful session. Azamara is focused on exploring opportunities to enhance our sustainability efforts and this session provided new connections that support this very important agenda for our company.”

EACC Florida at eMerge Americas 2023
The energy at eMerge Americas 2023 was great as were the discussions: less crypto, more AI.

Highlights included: the conversation between former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez on the future of tech with a focus on AI and quantum computing; the session moderated by Jaret Davis from Greenberg Traurig on "Attracting Talent & Creating More Opportunities in Miami Dade County" with Mayor Daniella Levine-Cava and Kaseya CEO Fred Voccola; and a very energetic session on "Florida: The Innovation State" powered by Laura DiBella, Secretary of Commerce and President & CEO of Enterprise Florida and TJ Villamil also from Enterprise Florida with interesting announcements on developments in the space and semi-conductor industries.

It was good to spend some time on the Greenberg Traurig booth with EACC Florida President Alan Sutin and other members of the GT team, meeting up with Members such as Miami Dade College and CyCommSec, making connections, running into representatives of the consular corps, European and Canadian trade & investment offices, and hearing from many interesting start-ups and tech companies present at the event.
