On July 16, 2020, in reaction to France’s plan to impose a Digital Service Tax on e-commerce companies, the United States Trade Representative threatened to impose additional duties of 25% as of January 2021 on products from France such as handbags, make-up and soap.
Join us to find out how these duties are impacting trade between the US and Europe, how affected industries and companies are handling this, and dive into what local impact looks like with the example of Florida, a trade hub into Latin America.

Building the 21st Century Workforce with Innovative Apprenticeships
Pre-Pandemic studies have shown that in the United States there will be a shortage of 3.4 million workers in the next 10 years. This number might be exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis on the US economy and the medium-to-long term effects of school and college closures and distance-learning on America’s future workforce. Advanced manufacturing is already confronted to an underqualified workforce and hundreds of thousands of unfulfilled jobs.
Looking to the world-class benchmark standards of the dual education systems in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, which blend academic theory with practical hands-on learning, apprenticeship programs are increasingly part of the work-force development solution in the United States in particular in the high-tech industries.
From the Space Coast of Florida to the manufacturing hubs of Ohio and The Carolinas, hear from some of the world leaders in technical education and from global companies that have successfully integrated these innovative apprenticeship programs into their work-force development.
This program will be graced by the presence of the Consul General of Germany in Florida, in honor of the German Presidency of the European Union.
SPEAKERS:
● Andreas Siegel, General Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for Florida – Miami (FL)
● Andreas Brockman, Head of Technical Training and Education USA - Festo Didactic - Mason (OH)
● Robert Ellis, HR Team Lead Supervisor Training and Apprenticeship - ZF Group – Gray Court (SC)

Charles Molina
Visual Artist
|
“I’ve been drawing since a child, I was frustrated by my unprofessionalism in realism, but I’ve learned to be patient so I could express myself in my domain, by finding my interest what I found snapping in the history of art, I discovered what influenced me.”
Charles Molina was born in March 2001 in Aventura Miami from Belgian parents. He started drawing as a child and never stopped. He grew up between Miami and Embourg in the south of Belgium and went to school in both cities. In 2015, he went to St. Luc Art School in Brussels where his creativity and exceptional graphic skills were acknowledged by his art teachers. In 2017, he was admitted to the Miami Arts Charter School in Wynwood.
In 2017, Charles sold his first paintings to private collectors such as Michel Chouraqui and the art foundation Art For All. He started exhibiting his work in 2018, and in 2019, had pieces showing in Miami and Paris. He is currently exhibiting in Brussels. Charles is only 19 !
Inspired by artistic influences ranging from street art to graffiti, Dadaism to abstract expressionism, his signature is reflected in his fun and symbolic style. He brings an element of popular iconography to his collage work, hijacking comic book heroes to feature in his own stories that he brings to life on his canvas.
Charles was appointed to the Teen Board 2017-2019 of The Bass Museum (Miami Beach Museum of Contemporary Art). In 2020, he was selected to exhibit at the Young Artists’ Gallery (YAG), a yearly juried art exhibit and scholarship program created by the Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
