WHY FLORIDA SERIES I Estonian Maritime Technology Trade Mission

As part of a trade mission to the United States, a group of Estonian companies in the maritime industry are travelling to Miami to attend Seatrade Cruise Global from April 7–10, 2025. The Estonian delegation will be led by Kaupo Läänerand, Deputy Secretary General for Maritime and Water Affairs at the Estonian Ministry of Climate.

EACC Florida will hold a “Why Florida? What Business Leaders Need to Know When Considering Expanding into the US/Florida” seminar for the group on Monday April 7. The seminar will be hosted by Cozen O’Connor – a President Circle Member.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES

Scott Bettridge chairs Cozen O’Connor’s Immigration Practice and represents both corporate and individual clients in all aspects related to U.S. immigration law. Scott’s corporate clients include major global organizations in the financial services, hospitality, fashion, media, IT, energy, agriculture, insurance, and health care sectors, along with organizations specializing in professional services, athletics and private club industries. Scott also represents individuals with entrepreneurial options, as well as with family-based immigration matters. He also represents both regional centers and individual investors in the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.

 

 

Carol Cabezas, a seasoned executive with 25 years of dedicated service in the cruise and broader hospitality industry, has left a mark on the sector through her dynamic leadership and strategic acumen. As the former President of Azamara Cruises, Carol oversaw the entire spectrum of operations, including Commercial, Finance, Shipboard, and Shoreside functions. Her tenure at the helm of Azamara Cruises included navigating the challenges of the global pandemic and successfully orchestrating the carveout from Royal Caribbean Group (RCG) after a private equity acquisition of the brand. This experience has led her to her latest endeavor as Principal of Woodside Square Solutions, LLC in which she provides hospitality, travel, and management consulting.

Carol holds a Masters in Finance from the Miami Herbert Business School at University of Miami and Bachelor degrees in Finance and Accounting from the Stern School of Business at New York University. Carol is deeply committed to community service. She is married and has two children.

 

Jordan Chisholm is a Member in the Business Law Department at Cozen O’Connor and the Vice Chair Office Managing Partner of the firm’s Miami Office, where he focuses his practice on business and corporate matters. His practice spans mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and general corporate matters. Jordan previously served as Co-Chair of the firm’s Associates Committee after completing a term as committee Co-Vice Chair.
Prior to Cozen O’Connor, Jordan was an Equal Justice Works fellow at Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. in Miami, FL, where he founded the Neighborhood Entrepreneurs Project, Legal Services’ s pro bono small business practice. Through the project, he provided pro bono transactional legal services to more than 100 low-income entrepreneurs as outside general counsel, and was a frequent speaker on panels and workshops covering core legal issues for emerging business owners.

 

Fabrice Marmousez has 29 years of professional experience, including 25 in public accounting. He is a French and U.S. CPA, has a diverse background and specializes in providing US tax services to a wide variety of multinational clients.

As a former PwC France Partner, Fabrice has gained a solid background working on both sides of the Atlantic with professional service organizations in domestic, multi-state and international structures.

As RSM’s national tax leader for the France country practice, Fabrice is focusing on cross-border US tax compliance or advisory engagements. He leads engagements for multinational private equity firms, foreign financial institutions and privately owned corporate groups, helping them navigate through international treaties, US tax and related mandatory financial reporting obligations.

Fabrice leads RSM’s tax International Private Client Services (iPCS) for the Southeast region. The iPCS teams are specialized and dedicated to work on: income and/or transfer taxes compliance, tax advisory and tax structuring and optimization for high-net-worth individuals and family offices.
