On October 7, Alan Sutin and Christina Sleszynska were honored to welcome Katherine Raeymaekers, Consul General of Belgium, at the occasion of her first visit to Miami. Consul General Raeymaekers started in her new position at the Consulate General in Atlanta in August 2024 and covers Belgian interests in 10 States in the Southeast – including Florida.
Ms. Raeymakers is a career diplomat and served in Morocco and several Central and Eastern European nations before being appointed to her current position in the United States.
We discussed our interactions with her team at the Consulate and some of the events we hosted – such as the Belgian Tech Delegation in December 2023 led by the Belgian Tech Federation (AGORIA), offered insights into the economic and business environment in Miami and Florida and expressed our interest in deepening our relationship. On the same day, she attended the 100th edition of “Belgian Mondays”, a social gathering for Miami’s Belgian Community and their Friends.
Katherine Raeymakers succeeds Michel Gerebtzoff who was appointed Ambassador of Belgium to Russia and Belarus.
