WHY FLORIDA? Seminar for Estonian Maritime Companies

As part of our “Why Florida?” series, on April 7, EACC Florida held a seminar titled “Why Florida? What Business Leaders Need to Know When Considering Expanding into the US” for a group of Estonian companies in the maritime industry.

The business mission of eleven small and medium-sized businesses will be attending Seatrade Global from 7-10, 2025 and was led to Miami by Kaupo Läänerand, Deputy Secretary General for Maritime and Water Affairs at the Estonian Ministry of Climate, and Estonian Trade & Investment based in New York.

In their own words, “Estonia is at the forefront of smart and sustainable maritime innovation, integrating advanced technologies to deliver high-quality, eco-friendly solutions. Close collaboration between equipment suppliers, research institutions, and startups drives cutting-edge advancements, ensuring Estonia remains a leader in the smart maritime revolution.”

It was the first time that EACC Florida welcomed a business mission from Estonia, a still little-known country from the Baltic States in Northern Europe. The exchange with the companies in attendance was fascinating as they all represent Estonian maritime excellence. Find out more about them HERE.

The early Monday morning seminar was kindly hosted by Cozen O’Connor – a President Circle Member, with some Cuban cafe con leche, croquetas y pastelitos de guyaba and was an opportunity to showcase the expertise of some of EACC Florida’s Member Companies.

Panelists included Scott Bettridge, Chair, Immigration Practice – Cozen O’Connor, Carol Cabezas, Principal – Woodside Square Solutions, LLC, Jordan Chisholm, Vice Chair, Office Managing Partner – Cozen O’Connor, Fabrice Marmousez, French desk tax national and Global Family Office Enterprise southeast leader – RSMUS, and was moderated by Christina Sleszynska, Executive Director – EACC Florida.
