On April 21st, at the invitation of Global Ties Miami, Executive Director Christina Sleszynska offered a presentation about EACC Florida, its mission, programs and activities to a group of investment screening officials from several European countries. Investment screening officials are responsible for reviewing and evaluating foreign direct investment (FDI) proposals to determine whether they pose risks to national security, public order, or other national interests. Countries represented included Bulgaria, Estonia, Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden and Bosnia-Herzegovina and these officials were invited to the United States under the auspices of the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
It turned out to be an insightful exchange as these officials were very interested in understanding the current “mood” as it relates to transatlantic business and how the Trump Administration’s announcements and actions are impacting the investment plans of companies on both sides of the Atlantic.
