Strong Interest in EACC Florida’s Program on the EB-5 Investor Visa and “Trump Gold Card” Developments

Despite a fatal accident on I-95 causing major traffic disruptions during the morning rush hour, EACC Florida’s May 8th event titled “The EB-5 Investor Green Card Program under Trump 2.0 – Where Are We Now? And Where Are We Heading?” drew a strong and engaged audience – in person and remote.

Expertly moderated by Leandro Barbuscio, International Tax Principal at Kaufman Rossin, the panel featured Andrea Devis-Focke, Director of Investor Relations at EB-5 Capital; Scott Bettridge, Chair of the Immigration Practice at Cozen O’Connor; and Makiel Morciego, Director of Federal International Tax at Kaufman Rossin.

The panelists provided timely insights into the current status and future outlook of the EB-5 program, covering a range of topics including the role of regional centers, strategic benefits of the EB-5 program for U.S. residency, key considerations when working with investors, and important tax implications.

A lively discussion also took place around the so-called “Trump Gold Card” and its potential implications for the EB-5 landscape, with many questions from the audience highlighting the topic’s uncertainty.

The morning concluded with vibrant networking over a superb breakfast hosted by Kaufman Rossin, an EACC Florida Platinum Member,  in their beautiful Coconut Grove offices, with many guests staying well beyond the formal end of the program.
