Young Voices From The Future

Andrea Bruno – From Caracas to Madrid via Weston (FL): The Journey of a Young Leader

Andrea Bruno, whose story spans continents, cultures, and communities, is 22-years-old. Born in Caracas, Venezuela to an Italian father from Sicily and a Portuguese mother from Madeira, Andrea holds both Venezuelan and Italian citizenship and is fluent in English and Spanish. She is also a sister to two younger siblings, now 16 and 10.

In 2016, at age 12, Andrea moved with her family to Florida through an investment visa, later transitioning into Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

Her international outlook deepened during a 2018 family road trip through Europe, visiting Italy and Portugal — though Sicily and Madeira remain on her future travel list. Her favorite comfort foods, fittingly, are Italian lasagna and Portuguese pastéis de nata.

Alongside her academic journey, Andrea built a strong leadership track record and serves as Regional Program Manager at Latinos in Action and Regional Director with the Junior Chamber of Commerce – Florida, a Member of EACC Florida.

In November 2025, TPS for Venezuelans was revoked, requiring Andrea to leave the United States. She relocated to Madrid, Spain, where she now lives with her Italian grandmother and is pursuing legal residency. She will begin working toward an Ed.D. in Leadership online while continuing to contribute professionally as an Independent Contractor for a U.S.-based nonprofit organization. With the support of her current employer, she has also initiated the process for a Certificate of Labor, with the goal of returning to the United States with a Green Card.

With roots in Europe, Latin America and Florida, Andrea represents the resilience, adaptability, and global perspective that define the next generation of young voices from the future. Her journey is still unfolding — and her voice is one to watch.

“Resilience shaped my story; ambition keeps me writing it.” — Andrea Bruno
