Nearly 250 business, government and institutional leaders from Lithuania and the United States gathered in Miami on September 24, 2026, for the Lithuania–U.S. Business Forum, held in the presence of H.E. Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania.
Organized by the Embassy of Lithuania in the United States in cooperation with the Office of the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Innovation Agency Lithuania and EACC Florida as local Partner, the forum highlighted opportunities for deeper cooperation in technology, trade, investment, maritime transportation and security.
President Nausėda joined Daniel Cancel, Miami Bureau Chief for Bloomberg News, for a fireside conversation on innovation and security in an increasingly uncertain world. Participants also heard from Edvinas Grikšas, Lithuania’s Minister of the Economy and Innovation; John A. Squires, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office; Daniella Levine Cava, Mayor of Miami-Dade County; Florida State Representative Mike Redondo; Fernanda Figueiredo, Senior Vice President of SelectFlorida; and other senior Lithuanian and U.S. government and business representatives.
A panel moderated by Gerard Philippeaux, Executive Director of the Miami-Dade County International Trade Consortium, explored Miami’s development as a technology hub and strategic gateway to the Americas. The discussion brought together representatives of government, the technology and creative sectors, PortMiami and the Port of Klaipėda.
A major outcome of the forum was the signing of four cooperation agreements between Lithuanian and U.S. partners:
- PortMiami and the Port of Klaipėda formalized a Sister Seaports relationship, establishing a framework for closer maritime and commercial cooperation.
- Lithuania’s Ministry of the Economy and Innovation and Mach Industries agreed to cooperate on developing production capacity for jet propulsion systems and engines in Lithuania.
- Lithuanian company DBOX entered into a partnership with XTI Aerospace, Drone Nerds and Parrot to develop a drone solution for public-safety applications.
- The Port of Klaipėda and the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation agreed to strengthen cooperation in LNG and transatlantic energy supply chains.
The program also gave participating Lithuanian companies an opportunity to present their capabilities and connect directly with potential U.S. partners, investors and service providers. EACC Florida was pleased to see several of its Member Companies represented and actively engaging with the Lithuanian delegation.

Later that evening, EACC Florida was represented by Alan Sutin and Executive Director Christina Sleszynska at a dinner hosted by Dr. John Prunskis, Honorary Consul of Lithuania, with President Nausėda and the First Lady of Lithuania as Guests of Honor.
The forum demonstrated the complementary strengths of Lithuania and Florida: Lithuania’s expertise in advanced technology, cybersecurity, defense and innovation, and Florida’s position as a dynamic U.S. market and international gateway connecting Europe with the Americas.
EACC Florida looks forward to building on the relationships established in Miami and supporting further transatlantic business cooperation between Lithuania and Florida.
